American Investors Can Now Access Indian Stock Markets
American investors can access the Indian stock markets as trading of Nifty Futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) will start from July 19.
The CME will be introducing two new contracts -- E-mini and E-micro S&P CNX Nifty (Nifty 50) Futures -- designed to access the domestic market opportunities, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) said in a statement today.
This is part of the cross-listing agreement which aimed at allowing investors from America and India to gain exposure to asset-classes from both countries. Definitely a positive move as far as the volumes are concerned, but I am not sure if this will create even more dependencies between the two markets
On a similar note, Indian investors are also able to invest in the dragon economy through Hangseng ETF
