Equity Market Round Up For The Week (Feb 1-6)

In an attempt to bring more regularity to the blog and add a little more value for the readers, i am planning to do a weekly Stock market round up.It will not be the usual opinion style content though, intend to take stock of the equity market at the end of every week.A running commentary of sorts on what went down in the Stock Markets.

So, this will be the first Weekly Stock Market Round Up on Getting Money Wise.

Indian Stock Markets 

The week began with Nifty posting marginal gains on account of the upbeat economic data and higher monthly sales figures from automobile sector. Both the Indices plunged further on second day of the week as subdued European stocks along with fall in US index futures weighed on sentiments.The market gained significant ground in positive territory with Nifty crossing the 4,900 level. Both Sensex and Nifty were able to post more than 2% gains. However, both BSE and NSE posted losses due to negative global cues and European debt worries. However, on the special 90 minute trading session on Saturday, the indices pared some of the losses due to bargain buying across various counters. On weekly basis, Sensex and Nifty plunged by over 2.5% to close the week at 15,915.65 (down by 442.31 points) and 4,757.25 (down by 124.80 points) respectively.
