#Deepwish has raised more than 40k and still counting.Indian Twitteratti has made this Diwali into a Joy Of Giving Celebration of sorts!! Hats off to @anaagh and @b50 for making it happen
Update:#deepwish finally raised Rs53,417 for Goonj. Rupees fifty three thousand four hundred and seventeen only. Say it again. Rs53,417. Wow.
476 tweets x Rs63.75 = 30,345. Those were the effort of 42 people on per tweet basis. Then there are some silent do-gooders, who prefer not to reveal their names. They have given a lumpsum of Rs23,072 for #deepwish.
Life away from home is never easy.More so, when it is festival time.So, for this Diwali when i could'nt go home, i decided to have a Cracker free Deepavli.To utilize the money saved, I dint have to look far. @anaagh had started a noble initiative on his blog to contribute towards raising money for the Education of Girl Child Anaagh's blog post. But, his idea germinated into something bigger and started the #deepwish campaign on twitter. Twitterati has jumped in big time and for every diwali wish tweeted with #deepwish, the group of twitter users will contribute a certain amount which will go to Goonj. I have decided to put in .50 per tweet but I have capped it at a maximum of 500 Rs. to avoid getting bankrupt :).For i feel, it is not the amount that matters, what matters is the start and participation.
